Teresa A. Marra, Esq.

Teresa Alicia Marra was born and raised in Florida. Her parents, Ramon and Nancy, are from Guantanamo, Cuba. Her father was a political prisoner under Castro’s regime. They came to the United States in 1962. Even though they did not have a complete command of the English language when they arrived from Cuba they worked very hard, studied and over time Ramon became an accountant and Nancy became a nurse. Teresa’s parents emphasis was always on recognizing the incredible opportunities that exist only in a nation as wonderful as America and in getting a higher education. Ramon would always tell his two daughters “you can be a pinto or a Mercedes”. Her older sister, Nancy, is a Dentist in Florida.
Teresa feels very blessed to be a citizen of the United States of America where freedom, rights and laws still reign supreme. After graduating from college, Teresa was offered a full scholarship and a Patricia Harris fellow to study law at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, home of one of the 25 oldest law schools in the United States. She received her Juris Doctorate in 1989 and became licensed to practice law in Florida. She is a member of the Worker's Compensation Education Association, the Hispanic Bar Association and the firm is a member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.
